Wants to meet with (sp) who is the NFAC recruiter to find out the process for recruiting women. also asked forideas on getting more enthusiasm among women. AOP program brought up as not directed toward people who need it but, instead, candidates are picked who already may have degrees in English lit, history, etc. Question: Will NFAC AOP program be abolished when Agency-wide UPMO program is established? DDO - Meeting with Tom Polgar to plan personnel. He met with reps (women) from LA and professional women from Africa divisions. Will evaluate whether or not meetings were worthwhile. If so, he will meet again to discuss general professionalconcerns of women. Meetings were not substantive enough.F----imentioned that women seem to be extremely intimidated and defeated. Professional women have refused to attend meetings because they feel "it is not any good." 2. introduced plans for program on family abuse in June. Lynn Finn (Prince Charles County) will lead off with discussion of problem followed perhaps by panel discussion with members of local counties participating. suggested we come up with another title for program (leave off "abuse") which would seem to turn some people away for fear they would appear to be "abusers." Need to attract braod spectrum of artici ants. "If I am not an abuser,I don't need to-attend." asked for suggestions for another title. .
