My fiancee, Douglas 'Duke' Clifton, left
Los Angeles on August 24, 1942, (he was a resident
of New York City and Long Beach for some 12 years
prior thereto) and has not been heard from since by
me. Telephone conversation with a close personal
friond in January, 1943, revealed held boon wounded
in his arm, was then recovered and expectod to return
to war Zone. He would tell me nothing of or about
his activities prior to departure other than to say
he would tell ALL when the War was over, and that I'd
very probably not hear from him until that time.
I, an ex-WAAC, CA 900-162) (August 26, 1942,
to August 4* 1943)0 age 45, at present secretary to
wr. Paul it. Weaver, would deeply appreciate any inform-
ation you may be able to give?whether he can be ap-
prised of my whereabouts (he last heard I was stationed
as a wA.AC in Philadelphia in above-mentioned telephone
communication), or any suggestions you may have to rem-
der wnloh will aid mp in my quest for Mr. Clifton will
