MISSION: a. Upon receipt of an order of execution, deploy personnel and equipment as outlined in this Operation Plan to a designated Advance Base and return within the specified time schedule. b. Arrange for dispatch of one/two U-2 aircraft from to Advance Base, after Task Force is in place at Advance Base, 2. AIRCRAFT DEPLOYMENT : a. Ferry flight of U-2 aircraft will be as directed by Project Headquarters or Detachment Commander. b. U-2 aircraft ferry configuration: (1) Takeoff fuel: As dictated by ferry route. (2) Minimum fuel reserve: Optimum altitude 100 gallons. Ferry mission will be flown at optimum altitude utilizing pre-computed celestial observations for course lines. c. Special UHF radio channelization will be as dictated by Project Headquarters Operations Order. Aircraft will launch from on a "Local Flight Clearance", AF Form 113, e. Standard emergency procedures will apply. f. Emergency bases enroute: As briefed, dependent on deployment route. 3. TASK FOR SUBORDINATE UNIT: a. Commander, REAR, will: (1) Maintain a replacement aircraft on standby for dispatch to Advance Base. Execution for deployment will come from Project Headquarters. (2) Keep Commander, Advance Base, informed on location of support aircraft. (3) Support additional requirements of Commander, 25X1 C4a Advance Base, within the capability of 4. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: a. All phases of mission planning, briefing and de-briefing to include pilot pre-breathing will be conducted in the C-130 aircraft. b. Mission pilot will be loaded directly from support air- craft to the mission aircraft and unloaded from mission aircraft to support aircraft. c. SUS PPI : a. Fuel for U-2 aircraft will be propositioned/or accompany Deployment Force as dictated by total weights involved. Fuel will be obtained from existing storage points as directed by Project "Chalice" Headquarters. Support aircraft will refuel as necessary to complete mission, b. Minimum aircraft and equipment spares to support one U-2 mission will be withdrawn from Flyaway Kit at and moved by support aircraft. Packing and marking will be IAW Unit Mobility Plan. (See Appendix 7) (List of FAK requirements, Appendix 1) c. Minimum equipment to support one U-2 mission will be 25X1 C4a moved from 25X1 C4a by support aircraft. Supplies and equipment accompanying the operation will be minimum to support one U-2 Mission (Special Equipment, ELINT, 25X1 B6a Weather, or M and Ball Sampler) Concept of maintenance provides for no major disassembly or repair of aircraft or equipment during period of operation. Time allowable will provide at most only for installation and pre-flight check of equipment involved. 2. TRANSPORTATION: a. Aj s (1) USAFE will provide necessary C-130 support aircraft to airlift supplies, equipment and personnel. (2) C-130 aircraft will make only necessary stops for refueling. 25X1 C4a (3) USAF will direct USAFE to provide required amber of C-130 aircraft plus one spare C-130 at or other location during conduct of operation. b.
