Flickinger, USAF, Assistant Commander, ARDC, for Bio-Astronautics, has worked very closely with this Agency on several high priority projects. In each case Gen. Flickinger has made significant contributions and the success these projects have enjoyed has been due in large measure to his outstanding efforts. In the first of these activitiesr Gen. Flickinger was instrumental in providing sound technical guidance with regard to problems, techniques, and equipment required in directing our intelligence efforts concerning aero-medical science. Additionall}ic,, he was of major assistance in the selection and assignment to thus activity of exceptionally well qualified specialists in the field. his continued activity and interest in this pro- gram is demonstrated by his participation in a number of equipment modi- fications and improvements, some of which represent a marked advance in this vital development field. his advice in the planning stage of a more recent project, with which you are familiar, has been of-inestimable worth in enabling us to evaluate program emphasis early enough to pay practical dividends. General Flickinger has not only made distinct and positive contribu- tions to these undertakings which are of great importance to our national security, but he has also done this while crel ting a large circle of friends among the people with whom he has worked. i believe him to be an excep- tionally able general officer with great promise for the future within the Air Force, and 1 look forward to the pleasure of a continued association with him on activities of mutual concern between the Air Force and Central Intelligence Agency.
