The following officers were cleared IDEALIST-III: Colonel William G. Walker Wing Cmdr Lt. Col. Milling L. Jac boon DCO Lt. Col. William F. Pigeon DCM Lt. Col. H. J. McDonald Base Caamo Officer 3. The visiting party not with the Wing Comdr, Colonel Walker at 0830 hours, 9 October 1962. During this meeting our requirements were relayed to him. Upon completion of this preliminary meeting, Colonel Walker took the party on a tour of base facilities. The base presents Itself as a neat, clean, well-organized and secure unit. Upon completion of the base tour the party returned to the Cadr's office to work out the detailed requirements. The following facilities and equipment will be made available to us as we require: a. Two small hangars (Buildings 401 and 402) originally B-47 nose docks which will completely cover two IDEALIST Articles and one complete staging kit and support equipment. b. One large room in Building 406 originally the base drag chute packing room. Room measures 100 feet by 24 feet, is completely air-conditioned and will be secured for our use. It is planned to partition this large room into four small rooms for use. He plans to plane all functions except maintenance in this large room in Building 406. It is planned to store fuel in a Government- owned railroad tank car (10,000 gallon capacity) in a secure area. An R-2 refueling track will be available to transfer fuel from the tank car to the Article. A permanent tank could not be made avail- able to us at McCoy. There will be no demurrage charge on the rail car. d. Oxygen and nitrogen will be available to us. e. Furniture as required is available. f. Sufficient billeting is available for all our personnel, g. Twenty-four hour messing is available. h. Three telephones will be installed in Operations Building-406. One telephone will be in- stalled in Maintenance Hangar 402. One IWX line for Signal Center will be installed in Building 406. I. All facilities except billets that will be in use by the staging team are located in secure areas, guarded twenty-four hours a day by Air Police. ,K. 4. General Information: a. Civilians will be authorized to use DX e. All personnel must be badged by Base Security Section to enter secure areas.
