accumulate data on this area pending actual flight tests further down
stream when we are in a position to install a new EPwt gauge in the
25X1X4 J-75 engine.
2. These readings will be by rawinsonde balloon
advises me that AWS alread takes readings in this general altitude
region from twice daily, so it will not repre-
sent much inconvenience em. to s are being taken by 25X1A5a1
to have o obtain a sample EPR
gauge from the B-58 program as it is installed on the J-79 on that
airplane. This is said to be an instrument de s ., r.,.d. for 68, 000 ft.
with an extremely sensitive ability to measure sma"JL r ressure
gradients. Lockheed will then attempt to test th.~, instrument, both
in the plant and hopefully on article 352 initialJJ v. If results are
satisfactory we will want to stage a test group :o Ramey afterwards
since that location is said to be most clo.se..y a::alogous to 25X1A2g
in terms of OAT in the 55, 000. to 75, 000 it. area.
