1. General Carter wants to be kept fully and currently
informed on the following two subjects:

a. Activation of the U-2 base at ~ and devel-
opments relating to its achieving operational status.
b. Follow-up details on the results of the U-2
tests aboard the carriers, particularly as they relate
to an operational readiness date.
2. I suggest that the Morning Meeting is the best place to
cover these subjects, but you may want to provide occasional
written reports as well.
