'This HQ has developed a plan for supply of film do detachments and the flow of exposed film from the detachment to the processor. The mayor portion of the distance involved is spanned by MATS and it is intended to utilize their normal facilities for this distance. 2. Planning Factors a. Supply of film to detachments. (1) Initial shipment is proposed on or about the 1st of May and will approximate 73~ lbs. and 1,000 cu. ft. {2) Subsequent shipments will commence on or about 10 May and every ten days thereafter approximating 3600 lbs. and 500 cu.ft. Unexposed film will not be escorted by the Pro3ect and .will be unclassified. b. Return of exposed film. (1) Frequency ...twice a week (2) size .,., approximately 1300 lbs and-180 cu. ft. c. Case sizes will approximate the size of a footlocker or a small trunTc and will weigh between 100 and 200 lbs. d. Exposed .film will be escorted by Pro3ect personnel. 3. Procedures Desired. a. Film shipments from ZI to the Detachment will be delivered to Dover AFB, Dela., in accord with above ached.. ghis delivery will be effected either by the producer or the pro3ect. Normal NATS facilities are desired for delivery of each b . 25X1A2g shipment from Dover to Buttonwood AFB, Englan c d with a designated priority. (It is recommended that omenclature and priority be applicable to these shipments also. c. Transport of film shipments from Buttonwood to Detachment location will be the responsibility of the Project (probably thru the SAC Support Wing). F;xposed film will be transported and escorted to Buttonwood by Project personnel. e. MAT~~ transport from Buttonwood to Dover is required in accord with designated priority. Pro3ect personnel will escort the shipment to Dover. f. ~~elivery of shipment from Diver to the processor will be project responsibility. !~. Requirements a. It is requested that MATS provide space required in support of the above procedures and that your offs oe -take action to designate a priority. b, It is requested that MATS provide secure, refrigerated space at each of the primary terminals involved for temporary storage of shipments and that MATS be instructed to arrange for secure, refrigerated storage of any shipments landing at an alternate base. 5. This memorandum will be amended to correct weights and sizes of shipments as necessary.
