MEMORANDUM FOR:
You may be interested to` ote that the U-2
Aircraft has now appeared in the Russian press.
Herewith is a photostat of an article from Soviet
Aviation on U.S. reconnaissance aircraft. I
have read the translation with care and every-
thing it says about the U-2 is an exact copy of
what has been published in British and American
magazines. Moreover, the Russian statements
are specifically attributed to Western Germans.
There is no mention of the presence of the U-2
anywhere in Europe or the Far East. All in all,
t is imptesses me as a fairly innocent article.
