This I did, and General Waltz was very interested and made it clear that he wanted to have an early opportunity to evaluate the equipment since Shaw also evaluates films and photographic equipment, particularly processin e ui ment to be employed by tactical reconnaissance units. accompanied me on this trip, and it was going ahead with some of his own money to build the first Trispin and Pentaspin Machines. In fact, the first Trispin is to be delivered to him was not until after I had given both briefings that I learned that for testing in August and the first Pentaspin in late September of this year. Shaw is a primary consumer already of Bimat material, and admitted they would be most eager to employ the Spin System as soon as possible. During informal discussions which lasted several hours after the briefings, I learned that one of the assignments TARC has recently been workin on is to develop an RF-4C reconnaissance capability for The Project Officer at TARC is Major Fran Engles, and e contact in the Pentagon is Colonel Dick Kane at AFNICAD, It might be wise to eventually coordinate our proposal with Colonel Kane, only after it ap ears that some positive action w' 11 i eventually be taken in ~~ providing with the U-2 capability.
