SUBJECT : Information from the Area Divisions
1. The Area Divisions will not give out information (other than
intelligence disseminations through the established channels) except
to the Staffs of CG O (or OPC), This is partly for security reasons and
partly to prevent the Area Divisions from being burdened with inappro-
priate or uncoordinated requests, t
2. For further assurance of adequate control, the Staffs of C$O
will secure specific approval of the AT. O before passing to the Area
Divisions any request for time-consuming research, collation of data,
etc,, either for their own needs or at the behest of CIA units outside
CSO. Normally such an assignment affecting most or all of the Area
Divisions will be made by means of an CSO Notice.
