A course designed to teach MATS personnel Advanced techniques, princi ee and information that will enable them to survive under emergen conditions, with the ultimate aim of returning to their own forces. The following subjects are included in the curriculums a. Ground Navigation Methods of Cross Country Travel c. Living off the Land d, Global camping techniques e. Use of Survival Fits f. Emergency Uses of the Parachute g. Selection of Emergency Air Strips h. Bailing Out and Reassembly Procedures i. Certain specialized training of a classified nature concerned with procedures to be adopted if the emergency occurs in hostile areas. 2. a gguigto Jb&1jr1cations. Officers and airmen selected for attendance musts (These qualifications to be completed by the higher ehoelon responsible for the nomination of students Course D a. a. Durations Three (3) weeks; six (6) days of basic instrucO Lion in school headquarters, five (5) days instruction at field camps nine (9) days progressive mobile field,training exercises, one (1) day course debriefing. b. Class Capacity: Initially, 50 students per class, but ultimately expanding to accept approximately 120 students per month, c. Class Frequency: One (1) class every four weeks. Students selected to attend should arrive in regulation summer flying clothing during the months from June to October and in winter uniform from November to June, and must include either G.I, combat or equivalent footwear.
