REPORT FOR THE WEEK OF 14 - 18 JANUARY
1. ORR has now shown active interest in the organization of a course
in Technical Russian for of their staff, 4 hours STAT
per day, 5 days per week, for approximately 12 weeks. I am now
in the process of making arrangements for this course; it will be
similar to the Scientific Russian course recently begun for OSI.
2. I am continuing active investigation of the possible future placement
3. as taken over responsibility for the supervision of
UrG/A students enrolled in SRA Russian at STAT
1, . I have been working with on the production of STAT
a Preliminary Announcement, a Statement of Procedures, and a
Course Description Statement for the language Training Center,
Eye Building, which we now estimate will be ready for use on
15 February
5. It a ears that approximately one half of the people who enrolled
for courses the first term wish to continue for STAT
the second term, 1951-52. The language business, in general,
continues to be very active.
