SUBJECT : Request for 70 mm Duplicate Positive
REFERENCE : Memo for Project Director, AOUATONE. dated
23 April 1956, fm C /PI/RR (SAPC?4872)
1. I am referring your request to the Project Director of Operations
for his comment.
2. My own provisional comment is that it will probably be impossible
to prepare overseas a duplicate positive for each 70 mm film which can be
forwarded directly to you. We expect to require each Detachment to pro-
pare a dup positive or negative for use by its own photo-interpreters and
to forward the original negative to Eastman Kodak where it will be required
in connection with the processing of the 9 1/2 Loch film. To ask the Detach-
ments to make two dupe would probably involve an excessive work-load.
3. What will be possible, however, is to ask Eastman to make a
duplicate positive and forward it to Washington probably in advance of the,
other photography from the mission in question.
