C; iI.JECT a Personnel for Detachment 8
r 1.1 a. i- t:g : Your Metro, same subject", 16 April 1956
1. I have discussed your lb April memo, regarding , shortage of
supply personnel, with Personnel, and with you smd I
must admit that I have no quick, Burs solution to getting supply
personnel on boned at Watertom for Oetaa1asnt 8 at an early data.
As you know, it will be the last of May before Detachment A receives
ar supply airmen.
2s I have asked Personnel to try and out down on the time lag
from the time the name is received until the man comes on board.
This can be arranged by expediting the issuance of the Personal
History Statements and appropriate follow up by telephone to hasten
the return of such completed forms, after which we will request an
"eyeball" clearancs so that the individual can be brought into l TDY
for processing. Once the clearance is reasonably sure, we can call
the individual a ask that they out short their 30 days leave which
U:>Ar normally grants then in order for than to arrive at the Site
sooner than we would normally get them.
3. In the meantime we will follow up on the action you have
Winn in querying mate: town regarding Detachment Ft's operating from
available Lockheed spares and using Base support until their supply
nersoanel arrive. This will also involve withholding --etacahment B's
until dstessdnes that he is in
a position to have such kits delivered to Watertown.
will arrive at 'Watertown an 7 May and will be better able to handle
the details on this approach,
I. will continue to place pressure on Col. Berg's office
to get nominations for all vacant positions in the supply area.
