FINDING AND rxr MINATION
The United States Government proposes to acquire for public
use, at an estimated coat of $47,503.40, two hundred forty four (244)
optical glass discs (as described in letter fr+aa The Perkin-81arsr
Corporation dated 18 kp 1936), wu factured ky the Jenaer Glaswerk
Schott and Gen. Landshut, G.rnsny, through The Perkin.uZlnrr Corpora-
tion under Government Contract No. SCr?21-54.
I find that the above-mentioned supplies are not manufactured
in the United States in sufficient and reasonably available oommsro al
quantities and of a satisfactory quality.
I, therefore, deten*ine that the provisions of the Buy
American Act (41 U.S.C. 10 a-d) are inapplicable to the articles
described above or the purchase thereof and that now W be purchased
without regard to said Act.
This Finding and Determination is made pursuant to authority
vested in the undersigned as Contracting Officer for said Contract.
