A report has been prepared calling attention to Executive
Order No. 9791, dated 17 October 1946, providing for a
study of Scientific Research and Development activities and
?sta lishing the President's Scientific Research Board.
This report looks to possible C.I.G. part4.cipation in this
activit should the Board find it necessary to avail itself
of intelligence regarding Foreign research and aevelopment
activities.
Preparation of a preliminary draft of proposed legislation
creating a National Intelligence Authority and a Central
Intelligence Agency is still in progress.
A study of proposed revisions of the Espionage Laws of the
United States is in abeyance pending the decision of the
Department of Justice as to it recommendation in this
connection,
