3. At the request of Dr. Darling I talked to Admiral Hillenkotter about
interviewing Dr. Darling in connection with his history project. Admiral
Hillenkotter said he would be delighted to give whatever help he would be able
to provide. Admiral Hillenkotter said that in 1949 he had written a letter to
Chief of'I-Qaval Communications about a Commander D and the subject matter
of this letter had come up in connection with some current proceedin s and
asked me to refresh his recollection on what the facts were.
