INFORMATION FOR THE DIRECTOR'S LOG
Submitted: 24 May 1951
1. General Mudge, of the staff of the Senate Armed Ser-
vices Committee, has returned the copy of the DCI's letter of 21
May addressed to the Deputy Secretary of Defense which was handed
General Mudge for Chairman Russell's information. It is noted
that the letter was shown to Senators Russell and Saltonstall on
23 May, and that CIA is authorized to inform Mr. Larkin, General
Counsel of the Department of Defense, that in his reply concerning
the status of information being requested by the Committee.
Senator Saltonstall's request for CIA, reports-has been withdrawn.
Mr. Larkin has been so informed.
