Following the many discussions we have had conctrninr*,
the eligibility of certain employees of the Central Intelligence
Agency for membership in the War Agencies Employees Protective
Association, and due to tce confidential nature of the operation
in your a4ency and the fact that the administrative details are
submitted to us in numerical code and also the discretionary
factor of selection entirely within your hands, I thought you
aright like to know trzat we dill be willing to accept in good faith
those employees who by the nature of your operation may be called
upon to go overseas or are in training for such duties at some
future date.
This would prooaoly include a great many eligible
employees who have nitherto missed the opportunity of joining;
W.A.E.P.A. while awaiting actual travel orders.
There is one othLr item I should like to call to your

apxlicants sboutd you nave s question of their acceptability uue
to some obvious exception, we should be very glad to receive a
copy of the application sabmitted anonymously or as John Doe,
Mr. X, etc., anu we shalL immediately pass upon the acceptability.
Due ;o your long experience in kne insurance underwriting, field
we feel confident that you will be able to pass correctly on the
great bulk of applications submitted but as you know our under-
writer occasionally asks for a review where there is a notable
exception.
