A recent case indicates r-it under the r'ederal Tort Claims Act
there cm be no recovery it plaintiff's favor unless federal em}?loyee
was acting within scope of his office or employment when ze committed
the wrong. In tiie case of a federal mployee, acting within tee scope
of office or employment manns acting in line of duty- Recovery denied
when Air Force plane was negligently operated without authorization,
knowledge or consent of man's superior officers. See King v U.S. 178
F.2d 320 (28 U.a.C.A. bd 1346, 2671 et seq.)
