SUBJECT: Weekly Activities Report # 30
DATE: 27 July 1955
SIGNIFICANT ITEMS
a. Special Air Force Training Program. As of this writing
we have not received the test results from A&E Staff which had
been definitely promised to me the morning of 26 July. Conse-
quently, evaluations on the 15 students have not been submitted
as yet.
On Tuesday 26 July a meeting was held in the office
of the C/OS with Colonels Talbott and Giblo and Major Crum,
relative to future training programs to be conducted by OTR
for the Air Force. Col. Giblo advised that they have fixed a
date of 3 October and feel reasonably certain they will have 15
additional Air Force officers and airmen available for a second
running and then would like to have a third running of the course
in January 1956. He advised that he could not promise any more
than two potential instructors for the October course and, there-
fore, would not be in a position to run their own training program
until sometime in the distant future. He also requested that the
October course be extended in length so that additional subjects
could be covered and more time devoted to practical work. The
C/OS advised the Air Force representatives that a request in
writing for additional training programs should be submitted
through proper channels and we would then decide whether or not
a second running could be conducted in October, how long a course
would be provided, and the number that should be included. No
commitments were made regarding future courses.
