a. Progress Report on Spegial A Force Training Program
On Monday, 28 ~bruary, Messrs.
of this office met with Colonels Giblo a o o We Air
Force. The training will take place in which
is now undergoing remodeling to accommodate the Air Force staff
responsible for supervising this program plus our instructor
personnel and approximately 20 students. The Colonels advised
that they would let me know by the end of this meek a firm target
date for the commencement of this program, Mich might now be
11 or 18 April. We discussed at this meeting the problems in-
volved in covertly training 20 officers as a group, and pointed
out that practical work and live problems would have to he kept
to a minimum. Because of the pressing need of the U.S.A.F. to
get these officers to the field at the earliest possible date,
they advised they would have to be satisfied with the best
possible instruction under the circumstances. They further
agreed to consider a suggestion to turn over five instructors
to us at a future date permitting us to train these men at one
of our safehouses and run them into all the practical work and
live problems we furnish other ordinary covert trainees.
