1. attended the 6th Annual
Meeting of a southwest Reading Conference at Texas Christian
University, Ft. Worth,~Tiexas, on 7 and 8 December 1956. Approximately
100 reading specialists from government, industry and universities
attended the conference.
We learned that diverse teaching methods seem to obtain
good results, recent research has shown that reading improvement
training increases grade point averages significantly, and some
industrial and government programs are still mechanically oriented.
2. Reading Improvement Course No. 32 started Monday, 10 Dec.,
with 20 students enrolled. The number of students from each office
is: DD/I - 4; DD/S'- 4; DD/P - 12.
3. Final interviews with students who completed RIC No. 31
are being conducted this week.
