On Thursday, 5 July 1956, the CIA Introduction Program was con- ducted for 51 persons. Audience evaluation: Very low. Far beneath the level of previous groups. Attached is a detailed breakdown of those in attendance. 2. Discussed with the AD/ONE, Mr. Sherman Kent, the content of the presentations to be made by C/OB/IS and Mr. Kent at the Strategic Intelligence School. Mr. Kent felt that the combination presenta- tions would aid both of us since our subjects were too broad to be handled by one session. 3. C/OB/IS met with the Secretary to the IAC, and the Assistant Secretary to the IAC, Mr. from whom he received oral and written material regarding the present status of formal IAG committees. Part of this material will be incorporated into the SIS Presentation. 4. G/OB/IS met with the DCI d i hi h , ur ng w c the subject of official Agency briefing was discussed. The DCI said he had known nothing of the recommendation of the Director of Training and the subsequent en- d orsements of this recommendation by Management and the IG. Mr. Deputy Director of Security, called to request that C/OB/IS do a VIP briefing for the new Chief of Security of the Department of State (Mr. Edward Bailey). This has been tentatively arranged for Monday, 13 August, from 9-12, prior to Mr. Bailey's probable meeting with the DCI. 25 July 1956. 7. C/OB/IS received a copy of a letter from the Office of the DCI which gave official approval to the request of the Marines that C/OB/IS speak to their Marine Air Reserve Training Command Intelligence Central personnel at Cherry Point, N.
