Office Memorandum UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT
TO . Chief, Intelligence School
FROM . Chief, Orientation & Briefing/IS/TR
SUBJECT: Items of Interest for the Period
5 July 1956 to 10 July 1956
DATE: 10 July 1956
1. On Thursday, 5 July 1956, the CIA Introduction Program was con-
ducted for 51 persons.
Audience evaluation: Very low. Far beneath the level of previous
groups.
Attached is a detailed breakdown of those in attendance.
2. Discussed with the AD/ONE, Mr. Sherman Kent, the content of the
presentations to be made by C/OB/IS and Mr. Kent at the Strategic
Intelligence School. Mr. Kent felt that the combination presenta-
tions would aid both of us since our subjects were too broad to be
handled by one session.
3. C/OB/IS met with the Secretary to the IAC,
and the Assistant Secretary to the IAC, Mr. from whom
he received oral and written material regarding the present status
of formal IAG committees. Part of this material will be incorporated
into the SIS Presentation.
4. G/OB/IS met with the DCI

of scheduling persons would be made more uniform and reliable
if the idea is adopted and, furthermore, C/OB/IS is quite sure
that we would reach more dependents by the proposed system,
since some of each category are now being lost by waiting two
months before getting on a Dependents' Briefing Program.
6. Mr. Deputy Director of Security, called to request
that C/OB/IS do a VIP briefing for the new Chief of Security of
the Department of State (Mr. Edward Bailey). This has been
tentatively arranged for Monday, 13 August, from 9-12, prior to
Mr. Bailey's probable meeting with the DCI.
25 July 1956.
7. C/OB/IS received a copy of a letter from the Office of the DCI
which gave official approval to the request of the Marines that
C/OB/IS speak to their Marine Air Reserve Training Command
Intelligence Central personnel at Cherry Point, N. C. on
