25X1A9a 1e a former WE employee was
authorized in the spring of 1952 to procure a car in the amount
not to exceed $2300.00.
2. At that time the car which he wished to procure was priced
at $2181.46 and he was advised by the field that he might obtain
that car but would be required to pay the difference of $181.46.
25X1A9a agreed to this, however., stated that if the car is sold
and the price obtained was less than $21~81.1ib that he would not
make any claim for reimbursement but that if the resale amount of
the car exceeded what he paid., he would claim for the excess amount
or proportion thereof which he had personally paid.

3a as returned to Headquarters and the car was sold
in the field in the amount #3,142.87.
25X1 A9a 4. It is felt that since there was a profit of approximately
$6611,00 that - be reimbursed in the amount of $181.46,, the
amount which he personally paid at the time of the original purchase
thus would leave a profit to the U. S. iovernment of approximately
1480.00.
