STAT Memorandum for:
1. Attached herewith is a list of Czechoslovakian
diplomats and their families. The Senate Internal Security
Subcommittee has designated a special task force, headed
by Senator Welker, to look into the problem of Iron Curtain
diplomats. They wish to have from us any derogatory in-
formation concerning these individuals and their activities
prior to coming to the United States. Normal biographic
data will be secured by the Subcommittee from the Depart-
ment of State, and I aria Wormed that an inquiry is also
going to the FBI regarding current activities. It is believed
that this Czech list will be followed by others on Satellite
countries.
2.. It is requested that this information be forwarded
to me so that I may discuss it with Mr. Kirkpatrick, who
will in turn review the material with the DCI.
