SUBJECTt H.R. 5893 - An Act to Amend paragraph I (a),
part Hof Veterans Regulation Number 1 (a),
as amended, to make its provisions applicable
to active service on and after June 27, 1950,
and prior to February 1, 1955, and for other
purposes (including raising the dual eompen~
sation of retired military personnel employed
as civilians from X3000 to X10,000).
1. In accordance with your request, the subject Act has
been reviewed in this Office. It appears that the proposed
Act would extend the current provisions of employment of re-
tired military personnel in the Federal civil service to in-
clude veterans of the Korean campaign; and raise the allowable
dual compensation of such employees from X3000 to X10,000.
2. It is considered that this bill, if enacted, Would
favorably affect employment practices in the Agency. It is
recommended that it be supported.
