On 24 September T called Assistant Attorney Gen"ral Dall=as
Townsend and explained to him the problem, involve-?. in having
testify in connection with

case. I said I felt we had reached a satisfactory agreement with
Mr. Korf but were deeply concerned whether the agreement could
be maintained if the attorneys for the Count began questioning on
matters we did not want discussed. Mr. Townsend said he
understood completely and that he felt our interest could be
completely protected and he would look into it at once.
