2. On or about 5 Ootcber just 48 the undersigned eve in the
proesere of departing from

visit, a liaison officer from the Service arrived at the
hotel room of the underetaned and presented a eift with the cotpliments
of his chief, The gift consisted of a silver tea service
of 00711_tagr or includine the tray, and is apparently of
recent ? mariutactiw. The trer boars an engraved inseription
indicating that Mr. Frank J. (sic) Wisner was presented with the
silver service in recognition of his services and aseistance to the
or verde to that effect. The timing and other circum-
stances of the gift were such as to render it extremely awkward to
decline its acceptenee and the bulk of the tea service pt for the
trey, was left in the custody of the CTA station in The tray
is currently held in the custody of the undersigned and the entire
service is subject to the disposition and determination of the Agency.
The cost or value of the tea service ia not known, but Is estimated to
be not less than $100 00.
3. It in noted that the Office of thAeneral Counsel ruled upon
a similar gift during the rsonth of August, 1951j (Reference b.).
