a. The Dvalestic Procurement Section of the Map Library
handles moat of the requirements for domestic collection that
emanate from the Geographic Research Area. Those requirements
are for maps and related documents, geographic intelligences
and information on aerial OhotograPhy.
b. The Section provides a link between the map eroeurement
activities of the State Department Geographic Attaches and
similar activity carried out by 00/C personnel. The objective
ia to obtain the mcdmum benefit from both collection facilities
with a minimum of duplication.
C . Personnel tram the Dome:tic Procurement Section have
in the past visited Field Offices to assist contact specialists
in the exploitation of sources 'ere a review and selection
from extensive files is indicated. This support continues to

d. rhe need for maps is not confined to coverage of the
Soviet Orb. The Map Library attempts to collect and maintain
maps of all areas of the world on a wide variety of subjects.

not only all technical and coverage data, but information on prospective
contracts and the behind the scenes contract negotiations. It vuld
definiely be in order to compliment the

over the past several months to our requirements for this information,
particularly those cases where they have responded in a matter of a
