SIGNIFICANT ITE 1. Lectures in the JOT program appear to be proceeding quite satisfactorily. I believe the teaching approach being assumed byl has gone over well. SIC's next major project at the conclusion of the JOT program is to be a "cleanup" with specific reference to a vault area where a great accumulation of unnecessary and obsolete material hampers the efficient filing of up to date matter. An attempt will also be made to set up an index of what is to be kept and arrange for periodic review. 8. Tutorial Training - There were no requests for tutorial during the period. 1. A request from the chief of 00 to have a course in "Organization and Operations of the Communist Party" put on at from 5 - 29 January 1959 was accepted. 2. Commander Gorman of the Naval Intelligence School at Anacostia called to arrange for two lectures, one December 2 on "Theory and Practice of Communism" and the other on December 5 on "Soviet and Satellite Intelligence Systems." NSA, who attended the last IOC asked about communist use of the polygraph and interrogation techniques.
