Office Memorandum : Chief, Intelligence School FROM : Chief, Orientation Faculty, IS suBJECT: Weekly Activities Report #21, 2) - 27 May 1958 1. Significant Items: DATE: 27 May 1958 met with the Chief, Signal Center and the O/C Training Officer to discuss a special. 18 hour orientation course being developed for Signal Center personnel unable to take the regular 10 course. The Comm officials approved the general course outline which this staff had developed, and agreed to make a formal request to the Director of Training that the course be presented this summer. It was understood that this Faculty would take no further action until the program is approved by the Director of Training. 2. Other Activities: A. Intelligence Orientation 1. During the second week of 10 #21, the Clandestine Collection, Support and Operations phases of the course are being presented. We have noticed good student morale and a lively interest in the course on the part of the present group. Their participation, as a whole, in the American Thesis was particularly praised by the instructors. Students in the present course are primarily from the DD/I and DD/S areas and range in grade from GS-5 to GS-14. In length of service, the range is from a few months to ten years. 2. New speakers this week include: UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT Office of Security, substituting for b. PP Staff, substituting Approved For Release 200 I UNd We have found it very diffi to ob ain perso e the Audio Aids Section to run films and tape record lectures for us during the present course and consequently had to reschedule films and lectures, and cancel some lecture recordings. Several changes were made to accommodate the JOT program beginning in October. The 10 will be offered three times in.the Fall instead of.4ur; however, an additional course will be run in July 1958. 2. have completed drafting a standard operating procedure for the an ing of both...the DD/S and DD/I Exhibits. This will be put into effect with the June, 1958 course. 3. has revised the material used in the Dissemination Problem, to include a and a cable.
