The Office of Training has the following item. to report: (1) visit to by FI Staff; (2) CE Seminar of 9 and 10 Febru- ary; (3 meeting with Air Force Working Group on Survival Train- ing; (4) briefing of DD/P and DD/S representatives by Agency consultant on methods and techniques of Communist police organs; (5) completion of survey of FT 1958 Cold-War Programs. 25X1A6b YmITORS The Chief, FI Staff, D P, accompanied by the Chief,Fl/Plans, and the Chief, FI/Operationab visited on 7 - 8 February 25X1A6b 1956. During their visit they met with members of the staff and faculty to discuss mutual problems.ex se presd his ap. 25X1A9a preciation of the significant work per orriIMe instructors at this base. Visits of this kind not only provide considerable substan tiva benefits but also have an excellent effect on instructor morale. COUNTERESPIONAGE SEMINAR A Counterespionage Seminar jointly organised by the Operations School, OTR, and the Cl Staff. DD/P, was conducted on 9 and 10 February 1956. The Seminar was attended by 25 individuals; among them were some of the Agency's most qualified counterespionage officers. The discussions which took place were directly related to the proposed content of the new CE Operations course scheduled to begin on 19 March 1956. SURVIVAL TRAINING The Deputy Chief, A & X Staff, OTR, represented the Agency at a znnstlag of the Air Force Working Group on Survival Training, held at Maxwell Air Force Base, February 16, 17, and 18. This study will be used as a basis for determining the scope of training to be instituted in the Air Force under the provisions of the POW Code of Conduct issued by the Presideat. SURV*1 OF FT 195$.COLD-WAR The Office of Training hes completed a survey of the training implications reflected in the FT 19511 DD/P Cold-War Programs. Several trends have been identified which may result in an increase of training requirements for certain categories of instruction. Spe- cifically, there may be an increase in the requirements for covert training generally, and for instruction in Anti-Communist operations, audie..eurveillance and cotuiterespionage.
