After some discussion it appeared that a more fruitful arrange- ment would be one in which the (I man remained on the payroll of the Agency and was aurthorized to spend full time from a week up to say, a month in a research organization and was free to discuss the matters of interest to him with the responsibile research workers in the organ- ization. This form of "refresher" training, if extended to selected academic and industrial laboratories, could prove very fruitful in sharpening the ability of the analyst to perceive and evaluate research items of intelligence importance.
