Um 411ftreslat 1110 Armed Services Committee by telephone this morning that he did not feel he should make any specific proposals for member- ship in an intelligence subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee. The Director stated that he felt that this was a matter in which we would prefer to rely entirely upon Mr. Vinson's good judgment, and that the senior Republicans and Democrats on the Committee were completely acceptable as far as this Agency was concerned. The Director also referred to his agreement with Mr. Vinson's principle that the membership of any such subcom- mittee should be kept small. 4-C24-c?
