Boyd Crawford, Staff Director of House Foreign Affairs,
telephoned to raise the question of an appropriate press release
after the Director's appearance on 29 January. Chairman Morgan
had raised this point. I indicated that it would be extremely
difficult to handle any substantive press release but that we did
not have any objection to mention of the fact that the Director had
appeared. Mr. Crawford understood our position very readily
and although I indicated the Director would be willing to consider
the matter if the Chairman felt strongly, he thought that we could
consider the matter closed.
