proved For Release 2000/08/2 M%0001061-00391 R06020023 bffice JVfemorandum . T NTTET1 STATES G TO Chief, Geographic Research FROM Assistant Director for Research and Reports SUBJECT: Draft of CIA/RR-G-19 1,0 1. I have the following suggested changes: a. The footnote on page v. should be omitted since V reference to coordination between the Geography Division and the Analysis Division is for internal ORR record only, b. On page 1, line 2, I question the use of "viability. Although it is strictly correct, I believe it is a bit misleading since the Polish state is not excessively stabke+ even though it will undoubtedly continue to live and to grow. I would prefer to see some such word as "development. c. On page 1, line 7, the verb should be "were" rather than "was" unless the author meant "determination of settl_e- ment of the boundary" which I do not believe he meant. d. On page 1, last sentence of lst paragraph, I would close the sentence with ". . . the question of the Western Territories could arise in some form." I think this would be a much safer statement and would not raise questions regarding possible methods of negotiation. e. On page 1, the next to the last line, there is a typographical error it the spelling of "upheaval." 2. I guess I will stop my knit-picking. The study does look like a very good basic job on the area and should be useful. r~ RNMENT DATE: 3 January 1y8 Approved For Release 2000/08/22 : CIA-RDP61-00391 R000200230010-3
