Altogether more than 20 hours of Russian recording is involved. 1I . Assistant tq' ORR Training Officer, in- formed that ORB is making a survey of the use of languages (and other specialized skills) in actual on-the-job operations. Perhaps the results of this will be relevant in the programming of future courses. ORE is the Agency component which contributes the largest number of students to Russian and East European reading courses. has been assigned to us from the Pool. At present she is assisting the Department of Slavic Languages in various tasks, such as the assembling of full-time Russian course materials, typing of reading selections, and the like. The instructor concerned had had no previous teaching experience and there were some initial difficulties, as expected, but her interest and coopera- tiveness enabled her to achieve a very satisfactory result.
