B. OTHER ACTIVITIES
1. Draft Program of Area Training and Research has been com-
pleted and sent to DTR.
2. USIA (LeRoy Benoit) has asked us to help grade some written
tests of VOA staff in Serbo-Croatian that, for reasons of objectivity,
USIA cannot give to qualified staff at FBI. The task is not great
and we have agreed, with taking the responsibility. He
is being assisted by of TSS who formerly ably taught an
area course for LAS.
3. An informal dinner meeting of the other half of the men of
the LAS faculty (staff and contract) who did not attend the last
meeting is planned to be held at the home of C/LAS on Wednesday,
18 November. This group will be entirely language faculty. It is
hoped that DTR, DDTR and C/PPS will be able to drop in for the first
part of the evening. Meeting will begin at 5:30 and break up before
10 p.m.
