1. met with of FE concerning the dropping of
an FE student o low language aptitude who has not been able to keep up
with the rest of the class in a French course. It was agreed that FE
would examine the case closely and decide whether other training is to
be requested. It is our belief that the training could only be accom-
plished tutorially, if at all.

3. A part-time course in Intermediate Japanese began last week with
an enrollment of four students.

OTR Educational Committee held on 29 October.

Printing Services Division for offset printing in mu iple copies. This
will be the first examination thus processed.
7. advanced course (Integrated Language and Area - USSR)
is now in progress with six regular students. This course, which requires a
good knowledge of Russian on the part of the students, is the most advanced
course now being offered in the Russian department of LAS.
