to contribute a 15,000 word essay on The Nature of Significant Fact
to a testimonial volume of essays honoring the retirement of Douglas
Haring, Professor of Anthropology at Syracuse University.

3. The Cyrillic typewriter with interchangeable type ordered several
months ago has now been received. LAS is now equipped to do typing
in Ukrainian, Belorussian, Serbian, Bulgarian and Macedonian, in addi-
tion to Russian.
4+. Thirty-three people reported for written Proficiency tests this
week in Chinese, French, German, Greek, Polish and Spanish.
5, Thirty-two Certifications for language Award certificates were
sent to the Registrar last week.
6. Thirty-one orals were given during the past week in German, Greek,

7. Ospent July 20th and 21st at I I where he gave twenty-
six written tests to staff members in eight languages.

8. On Monday the new entrance to LAS in F will be

central corridor just east of the 1700 wing.
