deserves great credit for the thorough-going
and competent fashion in which he prepared for and organized
the Area Training Roundtable, the first session of which was
held last Tuesday at LAS. The group, representin FSI ICA,
USIA, SIS, ACSI and MAI, was most responsive to pre-
sentation of the LAS Area and related programs and construc-
tive in their questions. All were agreed that more ought to
be done in the field or area training, bringing more depth
and scope to the program. Great interest was shown in the
LAS Overseas Effectiveness Program. All were also agreed
that the informal opportunity for exchange of ideas and re-
sources which the Roundtable will provide is a most welcome
and constructive step forward.
