Beginning this week, the four language department heads are accepting responsibility for the conduct of Qualification Review and Placement Panels regarding languages of concern to each. I shall stand by and be available to assist in any way they desire. Now that the procedures are well established, this transfer of responsibility makes sense and is more efficient. 2 FE has been collecting information from on personal acquaintances in the local Chinese community. 3. The dissident group in machine translation called last week, and were referred to Hazen of the IG staff. 4.
