B. OTHER ACTIVITIES
1. With half a week to go before the opening of the pilot
running of LAS's new course, Personal Effectiveness Abroad,
we have at least fourteen senior people with overseas ex-
perience lined up including a team of three men and a nurse
from the medical services. Nearly all of our outside speak-
ers have been lined up, all of them outstanding in their
fields. Great interest is being shown in the course.
2. Eighty people reported for Proficiency test last week
in French, German, Italian, and Hungarian.
3. Twenty-eight Certifications for Language Award certifi-
cates were sent to the Registrar last week.
4. Fifty orals were given last week in Russian, French,
Spanish, German, Swedish and Persian.
