Principal activity this week is preparation for and conduct of Qualification Review and Placement Panels, including file studies and interviews of all candidates. 2. On Frida "Selection and training for overseas service" (essentially "Overseas- manship" and problems of intercultural contacts) sponsored by the Society for International Development at the Shoreham Hotel. This is in connection with our own new program. Discussion leaders include Dr. Gerald Winfield of ICA, Dean Harlon Cleveland of Syracuse and four other authorities. of LAS and~A&E S are spending all day at a conference on 3. We receive occasional complaints on verdicts regarding eligibility for language awards, and refer all persons to R/TR. 4. At his request, Lt. Cmdr.
