Further by way of comparing CIA and other agencies in language training effort, the following figures from the Bureau of the Budget for 1959 have just come to us and are included here as a matter of interest: Army $10,566,31o State 3,021, 313 Air Force 2,695,500 ICA 809,000 .Navy 626,656 USIA 521+,195 CIA 517,219 NSA 248,000 The total in the government is just under $20,000,000; so CIA's ex- penditures for language training represent about 2 of the total. 25YEAR t.._....__.. ..:.
