good order, including the new shortwave radio and loudspeaker
system which has recently been installed. The method of
last fall, has brought about both the better control of pur-
chasing and substantial savings in operating costs.
2. Seventy Certifications for Language Award certificates were
sent to the Registrar last week.
3. On 13 January the first proficiency test on the new schedule
was given. The test was in German and nine people took it.
4. One person was tested orally last week in Polish.
5. During the past week the following books were received by
the LAS/TR Library in 2129 "I" Building:
