2. The winter trimester of the Voluntary Language Training
Program began on 7 January with a record enrollment of 409 students.
57 classes began in 15 languages. Included in the above total were
21 students for whom there were no classes because of insufficient
registration. The following classes were not begun in the new
trimester of the VLTP due to lack of sufficient enrollment, with
the exception of Swahili, where no instructor was available. Almost
all of these students left on base can resume next trimester with a
group of sufficient size. The saving effected by not running these
undersized classes amounts to approximately $3600.

The Advanced Russian Workshop, which began 18 November will
continue until 20 March.
