Arrangements have been made to hav one hour every after- noon to drill the full-time basic Chinese class. is is in addition to the two hours a day h now devoting to the advanced class. This arrangement wil~7-s give some relief until we find a permanent replace- ment interviewing a good prospect this week, a man who seems to have excellent qualifications and is interested, but who might take a long time to clear because he is not yet a citizen and most of his past contacts are still in China. Also we may be able to hire a woma for part-time work. 2. We have been given oral assurance byl lof EE Division that EE will send at least four students to full-time Greek training beginning during the first half of 1960. n word on this will be forthcoming. We have therefore informed hat his contract will be renewed if he wishes. At this point he does not seem to have any other plans; if such should develop he would let us know before renewal time in January or sooner. 3. I Ihas just entered Basic Polish Reading (II), bringing the enrollment up to four students. a JOT, several years ago completed the Army Language School 9 months course in Polish.
